Jackery Smart Transfer Switch for Explorer 5000 Plus
When the Grid Goes Down, Your Essential Circuits Stay Ready
The Jackery Smart Transfer Switch connects a compatible Explorer 5000 Plus home backup system to selected household circuits. It automatically transfers those loads to stored power during an outage while giving you real-time monitoring, circuit control and energy scheduling through the Jackery app.

A smarter connection to home backup power
Move beyond extension cords and power the circuits that matter
Portable power becomes a more capable home backup solution when it is connected directly to selected household circuits. Paired with the Jackery Explorer 5000 Plus, the Smart Transfer Switch lets stored energy support important areas of the home without requiring appliances to be individually connected during an outage.

Keep normal life moving
Choose which parts of your home receive backup power
The Smart Transfer Switch supports up to 12 individual 120V branches, or up to six 240V branches, with mixed 120V and 240V circuit configurations also supported. A qualified installer can help determine which circuits fit the system’s electrical limits and your backup priorities.
Seamless UPS backup
Power transfers before a short outage becomes a major disruption
When UPS mode is enabled in the Jackery app, the Smart Transfer Switch can move supported circuits from utility power to the Explorer 5000 Plus within 20 milliseconds. That rapid response helps keep sensitive and continuously operating equipment powered through unexpected grid failures.

Smart app management
See, prioritize and control your backup power from one place
The Jackery app gives you a live view of the connected home backup system. Instead of treating every household load the same, you can organize supported circuits around what must remain powered and what can be turned off to preserve available battery energy.
Understand where power is going
View system activity and available energy information in real time so you can make informed decisions during normal use or an outage.
Put critical loads first
Organize circuits by backup priority and disconnect lower-priority loads when preserving runtime matters more than powering everything.
Control when stored energy is used
Configure charging and discharging periods around your household schedule, available solar energy or local time-of-use electricity rates.
More than emergency backup
Put stored energy to work when electricity costs more
Where the utility offers peak and off-peak pricing, the Smart Transfer Switch can help coordinate when the Explorer 5000 Plus charges and when stored power supports the home. Charge during lower-cost periods, then schedule stored energy for higher-cost periods through the Jackery app.
- Build charging and discharging plans around time-of-use rates.
- Use compatible solar panels to recharge the Explorer 5000 Plus.
- Reserve a chosen energy level for unexpected grid outages.
- Monitor system behavior and adjust settings as household needs change.

Smart versus manual transfer
Automatic control changes how home backup feels
A manual transfer switch requires someone to be present and physically change the home’s power source. The Jackery Smart Transfer Switch can detect an outage, transfer supported circuits automatically and provide remote system management through the Jackery app.

Professional electrical installation is required
The Smart Transfer Switch connects to a home’s electrical system and should be installed by a certified electrician in accordance with the product instructions, applicable electrical codes and local permit requirements. It is a NEMA Type 1 indoor enclosure and must remain protected from rain and direct weather exposure.
