Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers to common questions about this product, setup, compatibility, and use.

Is the Pro S1 240Ah option one large battery or a pair of 120Ah batteries? Capacity and pack quantity are separate selectors on Renogy's family page. The 240Ah capacity option refers to a 240Ah battery; a two-pack selection supplies two of the chosen capacity. Confirm both selectors and the resulting SKU before checkout. What high-load capability does the 240Ah Pro S1 publish for inverter sizing? Renogy lists 240A continuous discharge and a 450A peak for 30 seconds. Those are battery limits, not automatic inverter approval; verify sustained DC draw, surge duration, low-voltage behavior, cable and terminal heat, and every protection device. Can a Pro S1 240Ah battery be mixed with a 120Ah unit in one bank? Do not mix capacities in a series or parallel bank. Use batteries of the same exact model, capacity, age, firmware, and state of charge, then follow Renogy's published connection limits and balanced-wiring requirements. Can the 240Ah battery communicate with an energy system over CAN and a phone over Bluetooth? It provides both CAN and Bluetooth, but each requires supported equipment and correct configuration. Bluetooth is for local Renogy app access; CAN compatibility must be confirmed against the inverter, monitor, or system controller's exact model and protocol. How should I translate 240Ah into realistic overnight appliance runtime? Convert each appliance to watt-hours at its actual duty cycle, add inverter and wiring losses, include DC loads, and reserve capacity for temperature and BMS limits. Amp-hours alone cannot compare runtime across different system voltages or AC efficiencies.
