Product Overview

The BRAVO 30 is a 30A MPPT solar charge controller using an advanced MPPT algorithm rated up to 99.5% tracking efficiency and 98% conversion efficiency, with stable operation under low-light or partial shading conditions. Maximum solar input current and maximum charging current are both 30A, with a recommended solar power of 500W at 12V or 1000W at 24V. The solar input voltage range is 8V–100V, with an MPPT voltage range of 15V–72V.

The controller auto-detects 12V/24V systems and supports 8 + 1 battery types: GEL, AGM, WET, Crystal, Calcium, LiFePO4, LTO, LCO, and Custom. A multi-stage charging algorithm with customizable parameters is included. Protection covers over-voltage, reverse polarity, short-circuit, and over-temperature conditions. The build is rated IP43 for the PCBA and IP22 for the connectors, and is certified to ETL, FCC, CE, and RoHS.

What size array can I pair with the BRAVO 30 on a 12V or 24V bank? RICH SOLAR recommends up to 500W of panels on a 12V bank or 1,000W on a 24V bank. Array approval still requires checking the exact series-parallel voltage and current against the controller's electrical limits; the wattage recommendation by itself does not prove that a proposed string is safe. Why does the BRAVO 30 list both an 8-100V solar-input range and a 15-72V MPPT range? The broader 8-100V figure describes the published solar-input limits, while 15-72V is the range in which the MPPT stage is specified to track the array. A panel layout should therefore be designed around the MPPT operating window while also remaining below the 100V input ceiling, rather than using either number in isolation. Is phone monitoring built into the BRAVO 30, and what accessories are still optional? Bluetooth is built into model RS-MPPT30PB for monitoring through the RICH SOLAR app. The remote meter and external battery-temperature sensor are listed as optional accessories, so do not assume either one is in the standard controller box unless the selected offer explicitly includes it. Can the BRAVO 30 be tuned for a battery that does not match a standard preset? Yes. In addition to GEL, AGM, flooded/WET, CRYSTAL, CALCIUM, LiFePO4, LTO, and LCO profiles, the BRAVO 30 lists a Custom battery option with customizable charge parameters. Use the battery manufacturer's exact voltage and charging guidance rather than selecting a chemistry only because its name appears similar. Does a 30A BRAVO controller always deliver its full rated current? No. Both solar-input current and maximum charging current are rated at 30A, but real output changes with panel power, irradiance, array voltage, battery voltage, battery acceptance, temperature, wiring loss, and active loads. Treat 30A as a ceiling for system design, not a constant charging promise. Is the UL-certified BRAVO 30 also sealed against rain and spray? No. UL 1741 certification and weather sealing are separate issues. RICH SOLAR lists IP43 protection for the internal circuit-board area and IP22 at the connections, so the controller and especially its terminals still need a sheltered, dry mounting location with adequate ventilation.
