How do I know whether this 100Ah Renogy battery fits my trolling motor? Match the motor's required 12V nominal supply and maximum current, then account for breaker size, cable length, terminal hardware, and the desired hours at each speed. Thrust rating alone does not establish the battery current or runtime requirement. Is the trolling-motor battery suitable for starting a gasoline outboard engine? No. It is a deep-cycle battery for trolling motors and auxiliary DC loads, not a marine cranking battery. Engine starting requires a battery with an approved cranking rating and construction specified by the engine manufacturer. What can I check over Bluetooth while the trolling motor is running? The Renogy app can show supported values such as remaining charge, voltage, current, and BMS protection alerts. Treat the phone display as operating information; a physical breaker, disconnect, secure terminals, and correct cable sizing are still required. Can this lithium trolling battery be mounted where bilge water reaches the terminals? No. Marine-oriented protection does not make exposed high-current terminals safe to submerge. Install the battery upright and secured in a dry, ventilated location, cover the positive terminal, and protect cables from salt, abrasion, vibration, and standing water. How long will a 100Ah battery run my specific trolling motor? Runtime depends on the motor's measured current at the selected speed, wind and current, hull weight, propeller condition, wiring loss, battery temperature, and reserve margin. Divide usable amp-hours by actual average amps for a planning estimate, then retain a safe return reserve.
