How much solar can the BRAVO 50 handle on a 12V versus 24V battery bank? RICH SOLAR recommends up to 700W of PV for a 12V battery bank and 1,400W for a 24V bank. Those wattage recommendations do not replace the controller's separate 100V DC maximum PV open-circuit limit. Check the voltage and current of the exact series-parallel array before ordering; a system can be within the recommended wattage and still exceed the controller's voltage ceiling. Is 100V the BRAVO 50's normal solar-array voltage or a hard ceiling? It is a hard maximum open-circuit-voltage ceiling, not a target operating voltage. Size the panel string so its calculated open-circuit voltage remains below 100V in the conditions where the system will be used. Do not approve an array from wattage alone; series wiring raises voltage even when the controller's recommended PV wattage has not been exceeded. Which lithium and lead-acid batteries have charging profiles on the BRAVO 50? The published presets cover GEL, AGM, flooded/WET, CRYSTAL, CALCIUM, LiFePO4/LFP, LTO, and LCO batteries. The controller also supports custom charge parameters. A chemistry label alone is not enough to confirm a safe setting, so compare the selected profile or custom voltages with the exact battery manufacturer's charge limits before commissioning the system. Will the BRAVO 50 automatically recognize a 12V or 24V battery system? Yes. Model RS-MPPT50P is specified for automatic 12V/24V system detection.
